Discovering Japanese Castles
Odawara Castle
An iconic monument
This castle is located in the city of Odawara, about 80 km (50 miles) from Tokyo.
It was originally built in 1495 by the Omori family, but it is best known for its association with the Hojo family, who ruled the Kanto region during the Sengoku period (1467-1603).
